Connect and change values

The vehicle or the XT module must be switched OFF!
For vehicles with Remote Receiver (LCIR) it is essential to cover it so that only signals from the CV-Programmer are received.

Insert the 8-pin connector into the vehicle's Update socket large / Update socket small or XT module. The marking on the plug should match that on the socket. The mark on the connector points to the minus (black cable) of the socket.

For CV-programmer USB / USBplus: Press the Prog and Reset button and release the reset button. The headlights on the vehicle / blue LED on the XT module should flash. Now you can release the prog button.

For CV-programmer (old type): Keep the button pressed and switch on the switch on the CV-Programmer. The red and green LEDs should light up and the headlights on the vehicle / blue LED on the XT module should flash.
Release the button and the red LED goes out.

From the CV programmer software:
With the button Import all CV's from the decoder the current data are taken over.
As of April 2015 (578B), the version of the decoder will be displayed above.
This will set the CV-Programmer to the decoder type and the firmware version.
Depending on the age of the decoder, different options are available.

Now you can click on a CV, which then appears in the window above. The current value is displayed next to it. This can be changed by marking and re-entering. This new entered value is colored and next to it an arrow appears to confirm. If this value should be transferred to the decoder the button CV ?? into the vehicle must be pressed. Confirm the transmission with OK.

Settings on the vehicle decoder

Basic technical setting depending on equipment

Reed_switch, Light sensor, battery check are activated or deactivated depending on the installation. CV27 sets:
Reed switch Value = 0 (factory setting), the motor is switched off by the decoder. The reed switch announces ON and OFF on a Faller stop coil.
no Reedswitch "Poweroff switch" Value = 8 The decoder is no longer responding to the reed switch connection. The reed switch turns the decoder ON for travel and OFF at the stop location. The decoder is de-energized.
Reverse action of reed switch from 2015 Value 128 Now a simple reed switch (normally open) without magnet can be used. The motor is switched OFF when a magnet switches the reed switch ON.
Note: For the Faller vehicles the reed switch is pre-stressed with a small magnet and thus constantly ON. It is switched OFF by the stop location.
A Light sensor is disabled by default with BIT 1 = 1.
If this value is activated and there is no light sensor, the driving lights are always on.

Battery check Value 2 deactivates the simple battery test. Note to this: CV28 Setting the battery voltage, factory setting: 3

CV28 Battery voltage: factory setting: 112, 3.6 volts 150-185, 2.4 volts 90-115, 1.2 volts 50-65

Speed control

First, the minimum speed at which the vehicle is just beginning to move should be set using the CV2. 3-140 (factory setting 20)
Next, set the maximum speed with CV5. 31-168 (factory setting 168)

Accelerating and decelerating is set via:
CV48 Break control. Factory setting 67, weaker 32, stronger 129
CV53 / CV54 where:
CV53 is the starting acceleration. Possible values 1-255 (factory setting 50).
CV54 Is used to set the acceleration while driving. Possible values 1-255 (factory setting 100).
The driving behavior over the entire range can be adjusted differently. There are predefined curves or you can create your own driving behavior.
CV153 Accelerate if CV19 = 64 CV154 Decelerate if CV19 = 64

Automatic depending on the type

CV100 Vehicle types
CV101 Direction indicator time for function module E7 1-63 (5)
CV104 Left indicator time Function module E6 or bus, emergency vehicle automatic 1-63 (5)
CV106 Left indicator time Function module E or bus, emergency vehicle automatic 1-63 (2)
CV102 Speed step to be braked for function module E7 1-28 (10)
CV105 Speed step with which a vehicle starts. Function module E or bus, emergency vehicle automatic 1-28 (10)
CV103 Bus or fire engine function module E2 to E5 or 2 magnets 1-63 (20)
CV108 Holding time function module D1 - D4 0-63 (10). 0 Requires a shutdown command. Wait 1-63 seconds and depart with speed step from CV102
CV109 Automatic bus function: Period which flashers are on for function module D or after passing the first magnet with Hall sensor automatic mode
CV110 Automatic bus function: Starting speed step for function module D7 and D8 or after passing the first magnet with Hall sensor automatic mode
CV111 Defines MF4, Hall Sensor features
CV112 Lights activated after passing second magnet
to
CV155

Setting lighting basic functions

CV24 Light with Power ON
CV63 Time the Break light lights up when a car encounters an ahead car (Formula: CV x 100 milliseconds)
CV60 Coupling of light outputs. Switch headlight / tail light, light 2, light 3
CV61 Reverse polarization of light outputs light 2 and / or light 3

Distance control fine adjustment

Requirements CV2 Minimum speed and CV5 Maximum speed are set appropriately.

CV47 Brake values when "Stop" is received from the preceding vehicle.
At intersections, traffic lights, parking lots etc.
CV48 Brake values when "driving" is received from the preceding vehicle.
During a convoy trip
CV53 Acceleration
This approach acceleration works on departure or at low speeds.
Factory setting = 50
Time in 5 ms between each speed step when the speed step is below CV 52
CV54 Acceleration
This acceleration during the ride at medium to high speeds.
Factory setting = 100 Time in 5 ms between each speed step when the speed step is above CV 52
CV52 Limit of the two acceleration levels
Below this speed step is faster, above slower.
Value: 92-150 Factory setting: 142
