What are CVs for?

With CV settings you can change the behavior of vehicles as well as the functions.


The values can be changed using:


For some values, multiple functions can be selected.
The individual values are added together.
e.g. CV27 1 battery test switch off + 2 light sensor switched off: enter value = 3

Basic settings


Caveat: If you have changes to many settings and you do not know what to do, first, carried out a RESET though (CV59 = 3) are .>br>
With just a few CV changes the behavior of a DC-Car's is extremely variable.
For this purpose, either a Progset is required which connectes to a digital station, communication is done via IR sensors at the front or
a CV-Programmer which communicates through the Update connector with a PC using the free CV programmer software.

There are settings for:

  • Operation e.g. Lights interconnect, servo operation
  • Behavior, for example, Braking, accelerating, flashing light timing
  • Technical Settings e.g. Battery test, trailer connected
  • Technical settings e.g. Address, DC-Car-Booster, PC-Transmitter



The most important are listed her:


0 = Factory setting
1 = Disable battery test
2 = Disable light sensor
4 = -The blue light is replaced from F5 to F3
-Front flashers is replaced from F6 to F4
-F5 and F6 don't have a function anymore
8 = Disable Reed switch

When you disable diferent functions you have to add the separate values.
The result must be programmed in CV27.
Example: Set the value 3 in the CV27, if you want to turn off the battery test and the light sensor.</td></tr>

Addresses beneath 127 are simply set.
Addresses above 127 are set with 3 parameters.
Take care: just don't use 128 while these bits setting is sensitive for malfunction.
There is a program for calculating CV values.

Multiple values ​​common benefit

If there are multiple values ​​for a CV these are added.
Bit values ​​means calculating together:
If several settings are possible at a CV, the "bits" are added.
e.g. in CV24 (or CV59)

  • Light Sensor OFF = 1
  • Battery Test OFF = 2

Together makes a value 3 plus

  • Reed switch disabled = 8

adds up to 11 as the value of this CV

In the CV-Programmer with the software for this purpose several fields are simply marked. The summing up the program does.
At the same time it checks for conditions. This can result in:

  • A vehicle decoder is not suitable for this CV value -> Update required.
  • The CV-Programmer software is not up to date and provides the opportunity not. (Update required -> The current CV-list ahead of the software always a few weeks.)

The values are best determined experimentally.
If the value is too high, the brake lights and the headlights go already on slopes or tight corners.
If it is too low, there is no "battery alarm".

CV19=0 : Vehicle is traveling at constant light. The battery is below the limit. Light goes out. Since this increases the battery voltage again no further "light switches". The vehicle starts without further light.

CV19=1 : it may happen that the vehicle stops and the battery recovers.
If the voltage is again high enough, the car jerks ago.
