Using the CV-Programmers

Commissioning

ATTENTION: If a remote receiver is connected to the decoder, it must not receive a signal from a DCC booster or PC transmitter during the entire procedure, otherwise communication problems or malfunctions will occur!
You can cover the receiver for this.

Programmer Plus:
If the CV programmer is connected, 1 or 2 LEDs light up.
If the plug is twisted, many LEDs light up.
CV-Programmer Plus
Both buttons are pressed.
Then release the reset button.
The headlights continue to flash and the decoder is in CV programming mode.
It doesn't matter whether the vehicle is switched on or off.
CV programmer without plus
The vehicle must be switched off.
The button must be pressed before and during switching on.
When the headlights flash, the prog switch is released.
The headlights continue to flash and the decoder is in CV programming mode.

First the CV's have to be read from the decoder.
To do this, press below: Read in all CV´S from the decoder.

The program automatically adjusts itself to the decoder type and the firmware version.

Adjusting values

Now a CV can be selected. After clicking on it, the explanation appears on the right.

The CV appear in the window at the top . The current value is shown next to it.
This can be put together by typing or by clicking the individual values . eg for CV27 1 light sensor off + 2 battery test off = setting value 3 The new value is highlighted . Then this must be confirmed above.
To transfer a CV to the decoder, press the button below:
Save CV xx in the vehicle

If several values are changed, the following can be used for saving:
All changed CVs in the decoder memories change speed steps "yes".
The list is then read in again by the vehicle.
To avoid operating errors, restart the program for setting additional vehicles.

First rehearsal

Activate the blue lights and the front flash in the CV24.
With the DC07, the front flashers go on steady and blue flashes 3 and 4 flashes.
With the DC08, the front flashing light flashes and the blue lights 3 and 4.
This check ensures that the update socket is also suitable for an update.

Setting CV2 = minimum and CV5 = maximum speed.

Attention: The program only works with a connected decoder!

After reading in the vehicle data, you can display and change the current speed levels.

CV2 minimum speed standard: 20
adjustable between 3 and 140
CV5 maximum speed standard: 168
adjustable 31 and 168
There must be a difference of 28 between V-Min and V-Max.
The intermediate values are calculated automatically.

The standard values are too high, for example for the drive GL1-46-7.
This can be improved by a different speed level table.

The driving behavior is influenced by the CV56 traction help.
It is best to set the value to 0 for the GL1-46-7 drive.

Now you can try out the driving behavior.

Accelerate and slow down

The DC car decoder has 2 acceleration ranges.
The approach area and acceleration while driving.
The limit can be shifted with a CV52 . Factory setting 142 possible 96-150.
If the number is set smaller, the model gets going faster.
CV53 acceleration standard: 100 faster is 50 or 25
CV54 acceleration standard: 200 faster is 100 or 50
If a model accelerates too much, it can collide with the vehicle in front. Therefore, the speed steps have to be reduced more quickly.

CV48 brakes standard 67, 94 or 129-159

CV49 brakes with reed contact start 32 to 255 are more powerful.
So that a vehicle does not roll over a magnetic stop.

CV98 braking and accelerating with the handheld transmitter or
function block with speed steps +2 and speed steps -2
The standard value is 16. Practical values are 1-4.

CV99 minimum speed level with the hand-held transmitter will not fall below the speed level set here if the -2 is repeated.
